A Welcome Message from Mr. Beard

Welcome to Birdneck Elementary School’s Web site! I hope you will enjoy your visit and will find the pages both informative and helpful. Please be sure to read the latest online version of my parent newsletter which will be linked on this page starting in September.

This is my first year at Birdneck as principal, but it is truly a homecoming.  When I retired from the Navy in 1991, I moved to a sixth grade classroom as a new teacher at Birdneck!  I was a sixth grade teacher for two years then moved into fifth grade. 

I consider it a privilege to serve both you and your child as the principal of Birdneck Elementary School.   From my experience as an educator and a parent, only with the partnership of home and school can our children meet their highest potential. To meet this goal we must communicate frequently. You can expect monthly communication from me to keep you informed of special programs and events coming up at school. Your child’s teacher will keep you informed of your child’s progress in the classroom concerning growth both academically and socially. Together we can help our students reach their full potential in all areas in their lives. Teamwork is the foundation of an exemplary school which Birdneck is!
